Aebersold includes a complete discography, song lyrics, and even a list of important recordings that every jazz musician should have in their library. Each song is presented in four formats: concert key (for C instruments - flute, piano, violin, harmonica), B Flat instruments (clarinet, trumpet, tenor saxophone), E Flat instruments (alto saxophone), and bass clef instruments (trombone, tuba). The book also includes two accompaniment CDs with the rhythm section playing the progressions and rhythms for each song.
